GREAT RESULTS BY CUSTOMER TEAM ZAWOTEC RACING ENSURES BRIGHT FUTURE FOR KTM XBOW GT4

After much anticipation around the debut of the brand new KTM X-BOW GT4, this past weekend, customer team Zawotec racing took to the track in Circuit Park Zandvoort for the worldwide debut of the car and it did not disappoint!

The European GT4 series offers a platform for various GT4 racing manufacturers, teams and drivers to battle it out on an equal and cost effective playing field. After having had a double pole position in the qualifying sessions, the car went on to win both races!

Second fastest time in qualifying and points in the main race at Brands Hatch reward strong performance by Nick Catsburg and Albert von Thurn und Taxis.

After leaving Nogaro empty handed, Reiter Engineering travelled to the second Blancpain Sprint Series race weekend at Brands Hatch. Nick Catsburg and Albert von Thurn und Taxis wanted to score points in the newly developed Gallardo Extenso.

The duo concentrated on collecting data and finding a good race set-up for the new car in free practice. Albert von Thurn und Taxis started the three stage qualifying session that determines the grid positions for the first of the two races. The Regensburg racer’s solid lap time of 1m 26.21s initially put the Reiter Engineering Gallardo R-EX in 12th place. Nick Catsburg was in action in Q2. He posted his best time of 1m 24.429s. As the competition closed in on his time, the Dutchman went back out onto the track.

BLANCPAIN RACING ROBBED OF POTENTIAL VICTORY IN WORLD CHALLENGE AT BARBER

BLANCPAIN RACING ROBBED OF POTENTIAL VICTORY IN PIRELLI WORLD CHALLENGE AT BARBER

reiter-gallardo-rex-catsburg-pwc-barber-2nd

Reckless competitor forces Nick Catsburg and the Gallardo R-EX into gravel on the first lap.

An old proverb says that to finish first, first you have to finish. Unfortunately, a competitor in the Pirelli World Challenge field at Barber Motorsports Park chose to ignore these words of wisdom, and ended Nick Catsburg’s race early. The Blancpain Racing driver, who started the race from the front row, was looking to repeat the second place from the previous day. However, on only the second lap a competitor pushed another car into the Gallardo R-EX, which meant Catsburg had to drive through the gravel bed before returning to the pits to retire with damage to the rear right.

Blancpain Racing and Reiter Engineering now have about two weeks to repair the Gallardo R-EX and to travel to the next Pirelli World Challenge event at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville.
