Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo - Le Castelle

This weekend the final race of Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo took place at Le Castelle, South-France.

We congratulate Marc. A. Hayek on his Vice title (Am) as well as his teammate Peter Kox also 2nd (Pro)!

REITER Engineering could secure 2nd in team result.

Reiter Engineering travelled to southern France for races 16, 17 and 18. Securing the championship runner-up spot in both the amateur and professional categories was on the agenda for Marc A. Hayek and Peter Kox. In free practice Kox / Hayek established themselves immediately among the leaders around the 5.8 kilometre circuit. In qualifying, however, they only completed two laps due to suspension failure, which meant grid position 13.

In Saturday's first race Peter Kox made a fantastic start and quickly moved up into the top ten. Kox brought the Reiter Engineering Gallardo Trofeo into a good position for Marc A. Hayek to take over after recording the fourth fastest lap overall during the 18 lap race. The Swiss defended his excellent position and took the chequered flag in third place after 18 laps.

An improvement was in store for the second race in the afternoon. The Reiter Engineering team was again made a good start. Kox moved up to second place during the first half of the race before handing over to Hayek. He took advantage of a driving mistake made by his rival Rossetto to take the lead. Mark A. Hayek crossed the finish line with a 2.4 second advantage and took the fourth victory for the Reiter Engineering pair in the Blancpain Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

The final race in the debut season of the world?s fastest one-make cup would bring the second victory for Reiter Engineering on this weekend. However, an unjustified drive-through penalty for leader Peter Kox cost two places. The stewards penalised the Dutchman for crossing the white line on the pit entry. This is, however, not forbidden in the sporting regulations, it is actually the white line on the pit exit which must not be crossed. Kox did not give up and brought the Reiter Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 Trofeo to the podium.

Lamborghini Racing Eastern Europe, partner of Reiter Engineering, fielded three more Lamborghini Gallardo in the race. The most successful drive pair was Jan Charouz / Adam Lacko with positions 6, 4 and 5 in the three races. Jarek Janis / Achim Winter took eighth position and their best result in the second race.

The results from the weekend meant that Marc A. Hayek and Peter Kox both clinched the runner-up spot in their respective classes.
