Till the 10th lap von Thurn und Taxis defended the lead without any problems, then the left rear tyre blew up and forced the Lamborghini driver to an early extra pit stop. Just one lap later he had to give up due to more damage on the rear of the car, caused by the tyre failure before. “There was a lot of debris on the track”, said Albert von Thurn und Taxis. “So there was no pre-warning, before the tyre blew up.”
Leipert Motorsport saved the honor for Lamborghini with the #25 Lamborghini Gallardo LP600+, which run under the Reiter Engineering banner at the Slovakiaring. Anton Kiaba drove a solid first stint. He came into the pits on 9th position and took the wheel to Stefan Rosina. The Slovakian driver fought his way through up to sixth position in the 27 car field and defended this result to the chequered flag. Tomorrow he will start from pole position.
