Catsburg sets fastest lap. Another drive through penalty prevents good finish. Max Völker out after spectacular collision immediately following his excellent start.

Success and misfortune were never far apart for the Blancpain Racing in today’s sprint Pirelli World Challenge race: in the race held during the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg event, the Dutch newcomer Nick Catsburg wanted to make up for his mistake in the first race in Austin/Texas. Three weeks ago, he relinquished the lead in the opening race when he was given a drive through penalty, which cost him valuable time, after crossing the solid white line marking the pit lane exit. Although starting from 9th position on the grid for today’s race was not as good as the race in Austin where started from pole, Catsburg stormed through the field

Second fastest qualifying time in GT-A class for Marcelo Hahn and his Gallardo R-EX in the Pirelli World Challenge at St. Petersburg. Nick Catsburg starts the sprint race from P9.

In the qualifying session the pilots hat to deal with particularly harsh conditions on the 2.9 km long track of St. Petersburg. Only one free training had to be enough preparation to get acquainted with the circuit. Whereas the training provided dry conditions, the heavens opened heavily just when the qualifying started.

In the pouring rain Reiter Engineering customer Marcelo Hahn again proved the strength of his new Reiter Gallardo R-EX under the banner of Blancpain Racing. The Brazilian defied the bad conditions and scored the second fastest lap time for gentleman drivers in GT-A class. A successful debut for Marcelo Hahn in the Pirelli World Challenge, as he had to skip the season opener in Austin/Austin.

The second Blancpain Racing driver Nick Catsburg had some

Blancpain Racing contests the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, round 2 of the Pirelli World Challenge, with two Gallardo FL2 GT3. Marcelo Hahn returns to the championship with a Gallardo R-EX.

This coming weekend in the Florida sunshine, Blancpain Racing aims to collect winners’ trophies in the Pirelli World Challenge. St. Petersburg is the second port of call in the 2015 season for the American GT series. Blancpain Racing made a strong debut on the first weekend in March at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin/Texas with the Reiter Engineering developed #25 Gallardo FL2 GT3.

Pole position for both sprint races, a tenth place on Saturday and with 3rd place on Sunday a podium capped a successful debut for Nick Catsburg. The Dutchman and newcomer to the team in 2015 spearheads Blancpain Racing’s attack once again in St. Petersburg. WOMAN POWER IN THE KTM X-BOW GT4: NAOMI SCHIFF TO START FOR REITER ENGINEERING

naomi-schiff-ktm-xbow-gt4-reiter

In a few weeks time, Reiter Engineering will start an exciting racing year 2015 with the KTM X-BOW GT4. As to the choice of a driver, team boss Hans Reiter has been biding his time with a truly great surprise: Naomi Schiff, the highly motivated, young junior racer from Belgium, will sit at the wheel of the new race car and be certain to cause a sensation in the upcoming season.

Twenty-year old Naomi Schiff was born in Antwerp to a Rwandan mother and a Belgian father. The multilingual Belgian grew up in South Africa and was based in Johannesburg from the age of four till eighteen. Even though her father raced in his young years, he never pushed Naomi into motor sport: "That was never an issue", she explained frankly and laughed: "At the age of eleven I was invited to the birthday party of a friend. It took place in a go-kart hall, and the highlight was a race with all the guests. I had never sat in a kart, but right off the bat I was the fastest and had a lot of fun. From then on I begged my father every day for my own kart – until I suddenly received a PCR kart at the age of 12."

From then on, it was clear: Naomi Schiff wanted to make a career in racing. She worked towards circuit racing via the national South African Kart Championship in 2008 in which she finished only one point behind as Vice Champion, and stages such as the Rotax World Finale in which she was the first woman ever

REITER Engineering fields a dynamic duo for their number 24 R-EX Gallardo.

The Dutchman Nick Catsburg, who has joined the Bavarian squad this year, will share the cockpit with Albert von Thurn & Taxis whose conspicuous absence from the Blancpain Series since 2012 comes to an end.

"I am greatly looking forward to finally returning to this wonderful Championship. It is a true pleasure to be driving with Nick, who, despite being a bloody fast pilot, is a kind and pleasant character and doubtlessly a great asset for our team", remarked the Prince. The affable Bavarian has been a regular to SRO promoted Championships for the better part of the past 10 years. Despite clinching some respectable results so far, he has yet to prove himself as a Championship contender on an international level - a daring challenge in this years strong PRO field.

For this purpose he will certainly be able to rely on his partner Nick Catsburg, who has made a name for himself by consistently outperforming in a diversity of vehicles and championships and will unquestionably be a benchmark of speed for the 2015 season. Nick: "I am really happy to add

SaReNi Camaro also up the front.

Both GT3 racecars, penned by the Reiter Engineering tuning stable, made good impressions during the first of two official test days for the Blancpain Endurance Series at Paul Ricard. The cool morning temperatures of around 10°C were ideal for fast lap times. At end of the first half of today’s test, the R-EX topped the 45-car GT3 category field by more than a second. The Camaro also produced good lap times and took 5th place in the highly competitive field.

In addition to the two professional racing drivers Peter Kox and Tomas Enge, the two gentlemen drivers Bernhard Müller and Ronald Hölling also made the most of the good conditions at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, southern France. In conjunction with the test, Reiter Engineering used the opportunity to attend to its ‘special’ customers: Müller was the Kirchanschöring based racing stable’s very first customer. Hölling bought the first R-EX in Europe.

BLANCPAIN RACING AND CATSBURG ON THE PODIUM

Nick Catsburg finished third at the wheel of the Blancpain Gallardo FL2 GT3 despite the tricky weather conditions in the second Pirelli World Challenge race in Austin.

While the first race of the weekend was held on a dry track, the drivers had to readapt for race two. Pouring rain turned the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, into a skating rink.

Blancpain Racing driver Nick Catsburg started the second 60-minute sprint from pole position after having set the fastest lap in Saturday’s race. The Dutchman was cautious at the rolling start, which cost him the lead at Turn 1. However, numerous spins and offs by the competition on the opening lap justified his caution. The race director immediately deployed the safety car to clean up, before the race continued on lap 7.

Catsburg dropped back to 4th place on cold tyres after the restart. However, as the
